Nurse Aide Training Program

Dallas Career Institute’s Nurse Aide Training Program prepares students for a career as a nurse aide through comprehensive instruction and practical application of the skills necessary to succeed as a nurse aide under the guidance and supervision of highly qualified instructors.

The Nurse Aide Training Program prepares students for an entry-level job as a nurse aide in long-term care facilities and hospitals. Students will learn how to provide basic nursing care to residents and how to communicate effectively based on the psycho social needs of residents and their families. They will acquire the skills necessary to assist residents in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence. Students learn how to protect, support and promote the rights of residents and how to apply safety and preventative measures in the care of residents. Additionally, they learn to function as an integral member of the health care team and will be able to describe how their skills and observations contribute to the overall health care system for long-term care facility residents.

Total cost for the program is $550.00( will increase to $600 effective August 2017) 
$200 is due at registration if a payment plan is needed.
The program cost includes Tuition, Books and one uniform which must be worn to class.

Our four (4) week CNA class is 100 clock hours. Classes begin the first Monday of each month.
Morning and Evening options are available.

Starting From January 2nd 2017, CNA classes will be held as follows.

Class Hours
Morning class : 9am to 2pm.

Evening class: 5pm to 9pm

Classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Clinical Training will be on Saturdays and Sundays in the mornings.


Dallas Career Institute Tuition, Uniforms and Books are $550.00.(Tuition will increase to $600 effective August 2017)
State Testing Fee is $95 and paid directly to the state.
Students will need a current CPR certification ($40 through DCI)
You will also need Hep B and TB clearance before beginning your clinical rotation.
Loan options are available if financing is needed.

We are vendors to Texas Workforce Commission(TWC), Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and The GI Bill for Veterans.

Course Requirements:
To be accepted, applicants for the Nurse Aide Training Program must:
• provide proof of completion of 8th Grade (transcript, diploma, home-schooling affidavit or
other official documentation indicating completion of 8th grade or 8th grade equivalent),
• provide proof of being at least 16 years of age,
• not be listed as unemployable on the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR) and
• not have been convicted of a criminal offense listed in the Texas Health and Safety Code §250.00

Competencies: Upon completion of this course
o Graduates will be able to communicate and interact effectively with patients, assist patients in attaining and maintaining maximum functional independence, while observing patient rights.
o Graduates will learn how to perform basic first aid, CPR, take vital signs, apply the elements of basic nutrition in meal planning and follow infection control measures.
o Graduates will learn to apply proper body mechanics in bed making, lifting and turning patients.
o Graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion and be prepared to sit for the Texas Nurse Aide Competency and Evaluation Program (NATCEP) exam. Upon successfully passing the Texas NATCEP, they will be prepared to begin their rewarding career in healthcare as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) .
